Description
The wonders of pirated hacking in the early years are entirely more intriguing than those of now. This purportedly Chinese pirated title from the Somari Team was released on the Nintendo Famicon. It replaces Sega Genesis' original character Sonic the Hedgehog with Nintendo's Mario and places him in a lo-fi version of the flagship title from Sega.
An absolutely bizarre find of mine through scouring the internet for obscure chiptune. The music recreates the original Sonic the Hedgehog's score in a strange but delightful 8-bit form. But be warned, this pirated hack is overwhelmingly frustrating to play -- difficult and awkward to an extreme!

Pirates just can't seem to get Sonic right. They get Mario right, but not his speeding blue archrival. However, there is a fan remake of this with Somari, Sonic, and the Hummer Team Pony as playable individuals.
